Sustainable Forestry of Acacia- and Teak- plantations
Costa Rica has subtropical climate and lush vegetation.
Respecting nature, we acquired free pastures and planted Teak- and Acacia- trees and now grow them in plantations.
Teak-trees are harvested with 17 – 20 years of age, Acacia- trees at 10 - 12 years of age.
After harvesting, fields are cleared from any tree- residues and are planted with 2 cycles of beans and rice for soil enrichment. Then those fields are replanted with young trees.
Harvested trees are sold to local saw mills, exported to Asia and Europe or processed by own saw mills to products for local use, such as construction material or pallets for loading export-container with fresh- fruit.
